The story of Tethar began with a familiar challenge: our children reaching the age where they wanted their first phone.
At first, we assumed a simple “brick” phone would be enough. We quickly realised we were wrong. Children don’t want to feel out of place among their friends, they don’t want to be the only one without a smartphone.
At the same time, we couldn’t find a solution that truly balanced safety with the expectations of a modern child—something reliable, trustworthy, and affordable.
So we created Tethar.
Tethar bridges that gap by providing clear, transparent boundaries and strong protection, without making children feel constantly monitored or restricted from the apps and features they care about.
We are not a multi billion pound high tech business, but we have a sole purpose. Our mission is simple: to give parents peace of mind that their children are safe on their smartphones.
