We started Tethar for the same reason you're here: we wanted our own children to explore the digital world safely, without turning their phones into something that felt overly intrusive and didn't have the regular functionality of a smartphone.

Our mission

A safe smartphone for every child

Smartphones are the modern way — children learn, play and stay connected with friends and the world. But the same device is a doorway to content and pressures they aren't ready for and don't understand. We believe parents shouldn't have to choose between giving their child freedom, allowing them a smartphone, and keeping them safe.
